Atom adds new cinemas to partner list

Cinema-goers can now use the innovative Atom Tickets app at a wider range of theatres after the mobile movie ticketing platform signed a series of new partnerships.

Kerasotes Showplace Theatres and Emagine Entertainment join Regal Cinemas, AMC Theatres and Studio Movie Grill as establishments that offer film fans the chance to use the Atom app to coordinate movie outings amongst friends.

App users can buy tickets in advance and then, via social media, invite friends to purchase their own tickets to join them. As well as pre-ordering seats, app users can also buy concessions in advance.

Emagine operates theatres with a combined 6,000 seats and 94 screens, while Kerasotes is the company behind the Showplace ICON Theatres which are located in several major cities in the US mid-west.

“Emagine has long been a leader in the adoption of state-of-the-art technology,” said Paul Glantz, Emagine founder and chairman. “Partnering with Atom Tickets expands and reinforces our commitment to providing guests with cutting technology that enhances the movie-going experience.”

Atom said it is pursuing an “aggressive regional roll-out across the US” and that its app enables exhibitor partners to maximise their revenue streams by utilising social invitation features and pre-ordering of tickets and concessions to draw larger audiences and increase ticket sales.

Tony Kerasotes, chief executive of Kerasotes, said: “We see the technology as adding value to the movie-going experience, making this a win for us and most importantly for our guests.”
