Touts pounce as Adele’s Australian tour tickets go on sale

Tickets for pop singer Adele’s tour of Australia have been reposted on secondary ticketing websites at more than 18 times their original face value within hours of going on general sale today (Monday).

Tickets originally priced at A$308.77 (£184/€214/$228) via primary seller Ticketek for Perth’s Domain Stadium were on sale for A$5,645.18 through secondary website Viagogo, with no guarantee of the seat number.

Secondary websites were also offering tickets for A$2,590.29 for performances in Adelaide and Melbourne, A$1,946.29 for Brisbane and A$1,349 for Sydney.

The tour will take place in February and March next year, with the dates having been confirmed last week.

Owing to the demand for tickets, second shows were announced in Brisbane and Melbourne earlier today.

In September StubHub said that Adele had been the biggest draw in North America this year in terms of ticket prices and sales generated through its website for her tour of the US and Canada.
