Tiqets aims to be big in Japan

Tiqets has expanded its reach into Japan after partnering with one of the country’s leading tourism platforms.

The ticketing platform, which specialises in museums and attractions, has signed a three-year deal with Veltra, a leader in tours and activities in the Japanese market. Under the terms of the deal, its technology will be integrated into Veltra’s website.

Tiqets said that partnering with Japan-headquartered Veltra, which also has offices in USA, China, France, UK, Italy, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand and Korea, “represents a glowing endorsement of Tiqets by one of the industry’s mainstay brands, at a time when competition and growth in the market are at record levels”.

“We’re delighted with this new strategic partnership and the opportunity to spread even more amazing cultural experiences with people around the world,” said Tiqets chief executive Luuc Elzinga.

Founded in 2014, Tiqets has offices in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris, Rome, London, Vienna, Philadelphia, Las Vegas and Bangkok.

Veltra offers activities to customers around the world, including sightseeing tours, spa escapes and interactive cultural programmes.

“Tiqets is an exciting company, able to fulfil last minute and mobile tickets for all the iconic venues in the world. They were a natural fit for us,” said Veltra chief executive Wataru Futagi.
