Polish fans snap up FIFA U-20 tickets

More than 50,000 tickets were allocated for this year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup Poland 2019 during the first 24 hours of the presale.

A total of 53,734 tickets were secured on the first day of the Visa Presale phase, with all three of host Poland’s group matches.

The Visa Presale phase will conclude on March 5, with an open sale, where tickets are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning on March 7 and running until the day of the final, June 15.

Besides the opening match and the two subsequent group matches for the Polish national team, the most sought-after games are the sold-out final in Lodz and the semi-final to be played on June 11 in Lublin. FIFA has encouraged fans to visit its ticketing website to check its traffic light system, which gives an indication about availability by match.

FIFA said: “Fans will be able to print at home, meaning that everyone who has been successful on FIFA.com/tickets/U20WC will receive his/her tickets electronically and be able to print them at home in A4 format.

“Each ticket will include a unique barcode that will be checked and validated at the stadium gate. No tickets will be sold at the stadiums.”

The U-20 World Cup will be held across six venues between May 23 and June 15.

24 teams will take part, including France, Italy, Portugal and Argentina.
