Regal Cinemas is set to launch a new unlimited movie ticket subscription service in the US in July, entertainment website Deadline reports.
The subscription will have three tiers of pricing, costing $18, $21 and $24 per month, providing fans with unlimited cinema tickets.
The pricing will be dependent on the location of the Regal theatre, with the top-priced tier having access to any Regal Cinema across the US.
The lowest price will have access to around half of the cinema chain’s national portfolio, with a surcharge of around $2-$3 added if used at a Regal in a higher tier, such as a major city.
Each tier will also receive 10-per-cent cash reductions on concessions.
Deadline reports that Regal Unlimited subscribers would need to pay for the entire year upfront to receive the unlimited plan benefits, with the tiered prices for the year being $288, $252 and $216.
Regal’s parent company Cineworld, which is based in London, has a similar unlimited plan, which has been running for more than 10 years.
Last year, MoviePass’ $9.95-per-month unlimited programme fell through, but it announced in January 2019 that it would bring back its unlimited monthly cinema subscription after the firm struggled to stay afloat off the back of its former plan.
Cinema-ticket subscription service Sinemia shut down its US operations earlier this year citing a lack of funds.
