Guns N’ Roses postpone Australian and New Zealand leg until 2022

American rock band Guns N’ Roses have postponed the Australian and New Zealand leg of their tour until 2022 due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The rock legends were due to play six shows in Australia and two in New Zealand in November.

A gig that was due to be played at Forsyth Barr in Dunedin has been cancelled and has been replaced with a performance at Auckland’s Eden Park. Ticket holders will be refunded for the Dunedin gig, but will have special access to the pre-sale for the Eden Park show.

Guns N’ Roses (pictured) tweeted the news of the tour’s postponement while also taking the opportunity to promote their latest track, Hard Skool.

“Australia and New Zealand! We’re coming back with a bigger and better show with new dates in November and December 2022. Until showtime, let’s rock out to Hard Skool,” he band said.

However, one fan was a little confused that these dates had been announced without news of the postponement itself.

The fan wrote: “So is the 2021 Australia dates cancelled ???? 2022 announced but no news or info regarding 2021 can someone make an announcement of 2021 and if we get a refund?”

Tour promoter TEG Dainty replied: “For the fans who have already purchased the hottest tickets in  town, hold onto them and you will have the same spot, in the same Stadium, in Summer 2022 for an EPIC 2 HOURS of Guns N’ Roses!

“All ticket holders will be emailed by Ticketek with full details.”

TEG Dainty’s chief executive Paul Dainty added: “Despite our best efforts it recently became clear that we could not proceed in 2021 and it has taken time to finalise a plan where we could be confident of completing a national tour of Australia next year.

“This will be the biggest stadium rock tour of summer 2022 with hundreds of people on the road, a massive production and logistics involved.”
