Nottingham Forest extends discounted season ticket window

English Championship football club Nottingham Forest has discounted its season ticket prices and extended the purchasing window to ramp up sales ahead of the 2017-18 season.

The club’s new owner, Evangelos Marinakis, has given fans an extra 11 days to buy their season tickets at a reduced price.

Supporters have been offered a 10 per cent discount on the original price if tickets are bought before the extension date of July 1.

Nottingham Forest has sold 14,000 season tickets for the upcoming season, already surpassing last season’s numbers.

Greek owner Marinakis said the leeway was put in place to “reward the loyalty and commitment of the supporters”.

The club said in a statement: “Owing to the exceptional demand for season cards for the 2017-18 campaign, the Nottingham Forest Board have decided to reward the loyalty and commitment of the supporters by extending the price reduction period.”

Championship rival Wolverhampton Wanderers also extended its season ticket deadline in order to reach a sales target that would have provided fans with a large refund.

The club launched a ticket scheme in early January, which said that if 16,500 season tickets were sold before the end of May, supporters would receive between £59 and £119 back. That number needed to include 14,400 adult tickets. The deadline was pushed back until June 14 at the end of May.

However, the club did not reach its goal and fans missed out on the refund.
