Alarming problem for Norwich supporters

Some season-ticket cards issued by English second-tier Championship football club Norwich City have been setting off alarm systems in supermarkets.

New electronic turnstiles were installed at the club’s Carrow Road stadium ahead of the start of the 2013-14 season, when Norwich were competing in the top-tier Premier League.

The cards used for the turnstiles were retained for two seasons before being replaced at the start of the current campaign.

The cards have reportedly been triggered in various supermarkets, including those operated by Tesco and Sainsbury’s. It is reported that problems arise when an individual carries a season ticket next to multiple other cards.

However, according to the Eastern Daily Press, Norwich has not received any complaints from its 22,000 season-ticket-holders.

Norwich said that any ticket-holders who are experiencing problems should get in touch with the club’s customer service department.
