Sound Rink rocks into Inc. 500 list

A company that sells VIP concert experiences has made the prestigious Inc. 500 list of the fastest-growing start-up companies in the US published by Inc. business magazine.

Sound Rink, founded in 2012, achieved No.232 in the standings after generating revenue of $3.3 million in 2015, up 1,700% on 2013.

The Portland, Oregon-based company organises and sells concert packages that include tickets to the show, meet-and-greets with the performers and limited-edition souvenirs.

Sound Rink’s clients have included soul singer CeeLo Green and the recent Art of Rap tour, which featured headliners Public Enemy and Ice-T.

Cody DeLong, the company’s co-founder and chief executive, told the Portland Press Herald newspaper that Sound Rink has proved popular with fans because it limits the number of VIP experiences per show to maintain the intimacy of meet-and-greets. He also said another one of the company’s strengths is its software platform, which is able to sell VIP packages and build fan communities through social media.

“Never in a million years would I have thought we would be where we are today,” said DeLong. “It’s been a ride, for sure. A massive part of our growth is the team behind it.”
