365 Tickets combines Uber ride with tickets

Online ticketing provider 365 Tickets has rolled out its Uber initiative in the US, providing a $15 (€14.23/£12.15) free ride with its new combination tickets.

365 Tickets offers online attraction ticketing with an emphasis on families, with the 365 Tickets USA platform aimed at helping holidaymakers to arrange excursions in advance or during their trip.

The Uber deal, successfully rolled out in the UK, is being offered in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.

Attractions available as part of the new combo tickets are currently the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, OUE Skyspace Los Angeles and Empire State Building, Madame Tussauds, The Whitney and the Broadway Show School of Rock in New York City.

“We initially tested this with our UK office with great success. So, we were very excited to launch it in the US,” said 365 Tickets USA president Dino Cappello. “Many times, the attractions in urban areas are well within a $15 Uber ride, so this was a natural combo ticket for us.”

The 365 Tickets initiative is the latest example of operators combining travel with event or attraction tickets. The ride-sharing company has even created Uber Events, a platform that allows planners to arrange lifts for all their guests by sending a discount code via email, social media or within the app.

StubHub also revealed plans early this year to create a service that offers an “entire experience” to ticket purchasers. The operator wants to roll out access to car rental, hotel rooms, restaurant reservation and merchandising during the coming months.
