Paytm, the Indian ticketing and payments giant, has been named as the exclusive ticketing partner for the Delhi Daredevils during the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Tickets will go on sale on the platform and on the Insider.in lifestyle platform next week for games to be played at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium starting on April 8.
Daredevils fans will be offered Paytm’s omni-channel ticketing and shopping experience. The company will host tickets for all Daredevils games and handle in-stadium and counter payments, as well as refund on cancellations for both online and offline sales.
Paytm will also manage the cricket club’s loyalty programme and host official merchandise sales on Paytm Mall and various other channels.
Paytm chief financial officer and senior vice president, Madhur Deora said: “We are proud to partner Dehli Daredevils, as they embark upon an exciting VIVO IPL season with one of their best squads ever.
“Paytm Entertainment is focused on helping our partners grow their business through innovation and helping them offer a superlative experience to their customers – in movies, events and now, DD home games.
“We are committed to bringing our scale and ecosystem to solve pain points like online and offline bookings, fan-club management, payments, merchandising and much more. We believe we are uniquely placed and are fully committed to innovating for our customers and our partners.”
The Insider.in marketing channels will be used to create a nationwide buzz around upcoming games, as well as driving audience engagement.
Fans will also be able to get a Daredevils Paytm food and beverages payments card online before the game as they book their tickets and use it for all meal purchases at the stadium.
GMR Sport chief executive officer Hemant Dua said: “Fan experience has always been one of our top priorities. Integration with a partner like Paytm is a step in that direction. We also hope to leverage Paytm’s expertise to create a seamless experience for all the fans.”
