Sporting Kansas City has begun selling its Major League Soccer game tickets through the social media platform Snapchat.
The MLS team, in partnership with SeatGeek, has made a limited number of tickets for its home game against the Portland Timbers on Saturday available on Snapchat.
SeatGeek has become the first firm to begin offering sports tickets directly through the social media-messaging app.
Sporting KC supporters can buy tickets on Snapchat by opening the app and taking a picture of the Snapcode provided by the club. Users will then be automatically directed to the SeatGeek ticket window.
Sporting KC and SeatGeek have collaborated to provide tickets in places supporters commonly visit, with Snapchat becoming the club’s second native social media platform to feature ticket-purchasing integration, alongside Facebook.
The mobile-focused ticketing platform provided US Snapchat users with the opportunity to purchase tickets to a MLS match directly in the app back in May.
Los Angeles FC was the first team to adopt the integration by posting a Snapchat Story that allowed users to swipe up and purchase tickets to the May 26 game without leaving the app.
