Tickets.com drives dirt track racing to go digital

Tickets.com has partnered with the World of Outlaws to launch a new online ticketing platform for dirt track racing.

The deal will allow the US motorsports governing body to provide fans with the first-ever digital ticketing solution in the sport, including mobile and print-at-home.

Tickets to the West Coast spring events and Texas Outlaw nationals go on sale today (Tuesday), with mid-April events to go on sale at WorldofOutlaws.com this week.

In addition to print-at-home options, fans can also have their tickets scanned on mobile devices at the gate, and in case weather strikes and a race is cancelled, the functionality to process refunds will be quicker than the previous method.

“Tickets.com has revolutionised the way we are able to interact with our customers before, during and after events,” World of Outlaws chief operating officer Tom Deery said.

“The ability to purchase a ticket and scan it makes it easier for everybody, plus it gives us the ability to let fans know of other World of Outlaws and DIRTcar events they could be interested in and let them know when tickets to the event they attended are able to be renewed. It’s seamless communication from beginning to end.”

Events now available at WorldofOutlaws.com include the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park, several races in Texas at Cotton Bowl Speedway and LoneStar Speedway, as well as the California swing beginning March 15 at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico.

Tickets for the new Music City Outlaw Nationals at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway in Tennessee are already available for purchase, with most other tickets to become available in January.
