Washington Wizards offer new courtside patio to VIP spectators

VIP ticket holders at Washington Wizards games will be able to enjoy entry to the NBA’s largest courtside patio from the start of the 2019-20 season.

‘The District’ has been created by operator Monumental Sports & Entertainment as part of its on-going $55m renovation of Capital One Arena.

At over 1,000 square feet, the patio will feature a bar setup and a range of cuisine options while giving fans the ability to socialise without missing the game. Fans will also have direct access from the courtside patio to both the MGM National Harbor VIP Lounge and the Etihad Airways Lounge.

‘The District’, which features four rows of VIP seating, will be located in the east endzone, just a few steps from the Wizards bench. VIP tickets for the Wizards are available from $230 to $2,300 per game.

“Washington, D.C. is one of the most connected cities in the world and the courtside patio at Capital One Arena will be an ideal location for business development and networking opportunities and perfect for fans who want to socialise at a unique space that serves as a literal extension of the hardwood and our terrific in-venue VIP experiences,” said Jim Van Stone, chief commercial officer at MSE.

The renovation project at the 20,400-capacity Capital One Arena also includes 20,000 square footage of LED signage improvements this summer.
