TodayTix lifts the curtain on Sydney Symphony Orchestra deal

TodayTix, the international theatre-ticketing platform, has teamed up with Sydney Symphony Orchestra to provide fans with mobile ‘rush’ tickets to select concerts.

Fans can access the discounted mobile rush tickets on the app, which can only be unlocked by sharing a social media post about the show to “help spread the word.” Once a fan has ‘unlocked’ the mobile rush page through a post, the feature will remain unlocked for that show until they make a purchase. Unlocking does not guarantee availability for that day and tickets are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Under the agreement, the ticketing firm’s mobile rush platform will give audiences $45 access to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince In Concert, and $40 access to Star Wars: The Force Awakens in Concert, Beethoven Symphony No. 5, and Britten’s Peter Grimes in Concert.

Sydney Symphony Orchestra director of marketing, Luke Nestorowicz said: “We are excited to be working with TodayTix and offering audiences the opportunity to immerse themselves in live orchestral music with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

“Through the mobile Rush ticketing, audiences will be able to experience music with some of the very best international artists and rediscover blockbuster movies as the Orchestra performs the entire score live on stage in tandem with the film. TodayTix is a fantastic platform – it’s smooth, easy to use and will offer brilliant value for everyone. People will be able to have a premium experience at an incredibly affordable price.”

TodayTix, which boasts 1,400 partners, is available in 15 markets globally and has generated more than 11.6 million digital lottery entries and 2.3 million social shares. In March, the firm launched its theatre ticketing platform in Sydney, expanding its services in Australia.

TodayTix director of partnerships, Australia, Rachel Nossack said: “For those who’ve not yet experienced the magic of Beethoven’s Fifth performed live, the tragic drama of Peter Grimes playing out against vivid musical seascapes, or getting dressed in their favourite Hogwarts house colours for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in Concert, and experiencing the Oscar-winning score of Star Wars The Force Awakens, this mobile Rush series provides something for everyone at a truly accessible price point. We can’t wait to give all Australians a new experience of live music.”
