StubHub has expanded its Apple Pay capabilities to include mobile browsers on Apple devices in the US.
The move expands upon Apple Pay’s footprint for StubHub users who can already use the method of payment in the secondary ticketing platform’s app for iOS and on the Safari browser for Mac.
According to StubHub, ticket-buyers use Apple Pay in close to 20 per cent of purchases on the resale firm’s iOS app.
Jason Zhang, group product manager at StubHub, said: “We know that our fans value choice at every point in the purchase journey, and we’re constantly working to empower customers with more options.
“By expanding the security and convenience of Apple Pay to mobile web browsers, we’re making it even easier for fans to be a part of the live experiences they love.”
Fans will begin to see Apple Pay as an available payment option for MLB mobile web transactions on the iPhone this week.
