Theatre ticketing platform Stagedoor has surpassed its initial £175,000 target on the equity crowdfunding platform, Seedrs.
The company launched the campaign in June to support making improvements to its app, which provides a theatre guide, event discovery and ticketing platform. It is also looking to expand its user base to 120,000 people.
Michael Hadjijoseph, co-founder and chief executive of Stagedoor, said: “It has been a phenomenal 18 months for Stagedoor. We can’t wait to begin the next stage of our growth, as we work towards our goal of making theatre accessible to a new generation.”
Stagedoor offers personalised and social recommendations, as well as ticket booking with interactive seating maps and quick payment across more than 150 shows.
In 2018, the firm raised £350,000 and has seen user figures increase by four times while revenue has shot up by seven times with a community of more than 40,000 users in London.
