XFL unveils ticket pricing ahead of 2020 launch

American football league the XFL has unveiled its ticket pricing packages for the 2020 season with prices ranging from $20 to $100 per seat per game.

A full season, eight-game package will cost between $100 for Tier 7 tickets, while Tier 1 – Club tickets will cost up to $500.

The XFL is owned by Vince McMahon’s Alpha Entertainment and has teams in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, St Louis, Seattle, Tampa and Washington DC.

Fans who became founding season ticket holders will be offered additional benefits such as a VIP field pass for one home game, 25 per cent discount on merchandise at XFL.com, and VIP experiences throughout the year.

“The Los Angeles Wildcats are embracing a fan-first mentality with unparalleled access and a commitment to affordable ticket pricing,” said Los Angeles Wildcats president Heather Brooks Karatz. “LA Wildcats ticket pricing is unprecedented for professional football.”

The XFL is scheduled to restart play February 8, 2020, and is also looking to introduce premium seating on the sidelines of its games through a partnership with sports and entertainment consulting firm Elevate Sports Ventures.

The league teamed up with Elevate, which is a joint venture of the San Francisco 49ers, Harris Blitzer Sports and Entertainment, Ticketmaster, Live Nation and the Oakview Group, in May to help boost ticket sales ahead of its launch.

Its inaugural player draft will be held next week on October 15-16.

The league is the successor to the previous XFL, which was run by the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) and US network NBC and only lasted for a single season in 2001.
