Refunds offered to fans of cancelled Strictly Tour at SSE Hydro

Thousands of Strictly Come Dancing Tour ticket-holders will receive automatic refunds after a water leak caused the SSE Hydro to cancel the event at the last minute.

Staff at the 14,300-capacity venue in Glasgow claim it was a “water leak” that forced the cancellation of the evening show after the earlier performance was also cancelled at the last minute.

In a statement SSE Hydro told ticket holders yesterday (Sunday): “We are liaising with the promoter of the event to reschedule the show, however refunds are available from point of purchase and we sincerely apologise to those affected.”

Ticketmaster had reportedly advised Strictly fans to “hold onto your tickets,” adding that tickets for the cancelled shows would be valid for the new date.

However, organisers have today confirmed that the Glasgow tour date will not be rescheduled.

SSE Hydro tweeted today: “Despite our best efforts it became apparent that this was not going to be possible. We are very sorry that customers had to wait outside the venue for a period of time whilst we tried to fix the problem and acknowledge that our communication on this could have been better.

“In order to avoid any further inconvenience to customers affected refunds will be processed automatically.”
