San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance launches apps with Attractions.io

San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance has teamed up with Attractions.io to launch a new app to enhance the guest experience, digitise memberships and ticketing, and boost conservation efforts.

Attractions.io is a platform for visitor attractions, such as LEGOLAND, and is used by millions of visitors annually. As well as mobile ticketing, it also offers several other features, such as wayfinding, targeted messaging, food ordering, visitor analytics and more.

San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, which is an international non-profit conservation organisation that operates two parks in California, the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, launched its new brand along with the apps this week.

Damien Lasater, associate director of marketing at San Diego Zoo and Safari Park said: “We’re really excited about this new partnership with Attractions.io. We recognise the importance of technology in future-proofing the guest experience and meeting the expectations of our guests and members.

“These apps will be an integral part of our vision for a connected, on-brand digital offering that adds more value and creates a better experience for day visitors and members alike.”

The organisation, which claims to have the largest zoological membership association in the world, teamed up with Attractions.io to improve the digital experience for their 500,000 members by introducing the option to store their tickets and membership passes digitally.

The new apps will allow a scan-and-go method of entry upon arrival, which will also reduce the number of paper tickets and printed maps.

According to the organisation, the apps will also help to support the conservation agenda by identifying more engaged visitors and sharing relevant information about the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance’s conservation efforts and how they can help the cause.

Danielle Bastiaens, head of delivery of Attractions.io, added: “We’re incredibly proud to be able to support San Diego Zoo as one of the world’s leading wildlife organisations. We’re confident that the new app will make significant and measurable improvements to the guest experience at the Zoo and Safari Park and unlock new opportunities to further the fantastic conservation work they do.”
