FKP Scorpio strengthens UK team with senior appointments

Leading European concert and festival promoter FKP Scorpio has bolstered its UK team as it continues its entry into the market.

The Hamburg-headquartered group’s UK division has brought in Lou Champion as head of ticketing, with Julie Morgan as head of marketing (UK and European touring) and Rebecca Nichols as head of live co-ordination.

Champion’s previous roles have included positions at Live Nation, Warner Music, Kilimanjaro Live, and London Olympics 2012. Morgan was previously head of marketing and PR at SJM Concerts, where she worked for over 16 years, heading up campaigns for the likes of the Stone Roses, Spice Girls and Arctic Monkeys. Nichols spent more than a decade working as an agent at CAA, where she oversaw all areas of artists’ live touring careers.

Daniel Ealam, co-managing director of live at FKP Scorpio UK, said: “We feel like we have assembled a dream team of the best talents our industry has to offer, and we very much look forward to driving the UK business with a group of like-minded music fans.”

The FKP Scorpio UK office was launched late last year with Ealam and Scott O’Neill heading up the concerts team and co-MDs Barry Campbell and James Cassidy overseeing special projects.

FKP Scorpio is led by chief executive Folkert Koopmans and is considered one of the world’s top 10 leading concert promoters with offices in Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Poland, Netherlands, Austria, Finland and Belgium. Foo Fighters, Ed Sheeran and several major German festivals are among those to have worked with FKP Scorpio since it was founded in 1990.

Meanwhile, FKP Scorpio’s UK team has also announced a partnership with London-based promoter Sam Laurence. Under the Dollop brand, Sam counts Jamie xx, Joji and Kelela among his clients.

O’Neill said: “Sam is one of the most exciting promoters in the game right now and to help develop his artists and take them to the next level is something that excites us all at FKP Scorpio.”
