Australian music festival Grass Is Greener has officially been wound up according to reports, after organiser Hand Picked Events and Marketing fell into administration.

Australia’s 7 News reported that the festival faced a number of issues throughout 2022, but was due to go ahead throughout October that year in Canberra, Cairns, Geelong and the Gold Coast.

However, just weeks before the events were set to take place, headliners Ty Dolla $ign, ZHU, Mary Janes Coles and ONEFOUR pulled out. This was reportedly due to the festival running into financial issues.

The Geelong and Canberra dates were cancelled, but Grass Is Greener events were able to take place in the Gold Coast and Cairns with performances from artists such as PNAU, Alok, Sticky Fingers, Waifa, Boo Seeka, YG and more.

The 7 News article added that BCR Advisory, a boutique corporate advisory, recovery and insolvency firm, was appointed as liquidators on December 9 and Hand Picked officially went into liquidation on July 17.
