K-pop music festival HallyuPopFest is heading to China for the first time ever, with Macau to stage the event this October.
Luxury resort hotel Wynn Palace will host the two-day show, which is headlined by NCT DREAM and SHINee. HallyuPopFest is being organised by AEG Presents Asia and H.A.H. Entertainment.
The event will be held on the resort’s lawn, making it the first time since it was founded in 2018 that it has been staged outdoors. HallyuPopFest has previously presented sold-out shows at London’s OVO Arena, Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena and Singapore Indoor Stadium, with 300,000 attending in total.
Adam Wilkes, AEG Presents Asia’s president and chief executive, said: “The event has grown into a fan favourite around the world, and we are thrilled to be producing the very first outdoor version of the event on the brilliant Wynn Palace lawn.”
HYOLYN, KARD, Sam Kim, VERIVERY, Cherry Bullet, OMEGA X, H1-KEY and NINE to SIX will also be playing the event, which runs from October 21-22.
Linda Chen, president and vice chairman of the board of Wynn Macau, said: “Music tourism is on the rise around the world, and this annual K-pop festival has rapidly become a global sensation.
“By hosting major international music festivals such as these at Wynn Palace, our goal is to put Macau on the map as a top-tier destination for international events.”
