Fans are now able to secure their place at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound music festival which has the likes of Lana del Rey, SZA, and Pulp headlining the event from May 29 – June 2, next year.

General sales have today (Friday) opened up through ticketing platform Dice with prices starting at €265 (£230/$290), while VIP full festival tickets are available for €495.

Users that had registered for the fan sale were given early access and were able to buy tickets a day earlier.

Del Rey has received numerous accolades throughout her career including two MT Europe Music Awards, two Brit Awards, a Satellite Award and nine Gaffa awards. The American has also been nominated for 11 Grammy Awards and a Golden Globe Award.

Also playing at the Parc del Fòrum are FKA Twigs, Vampire Weekend, Mitski, Bikini Kill, PJ Harvey, the National, Charli XCX, Troye Sivan and the Deftones. Some 150 acts have been announced so far.

Next year’s event is set to be the 22nd edition of the festival and organisers have reaffirmed their commitment to gender equality.

The line-up sees an equal split between men and women performing, with 42.36% each, while 15.28% of acts are comprised of mixed line-ups. This has been a hallmark of the festival since the 2019 edition which was the first time that the gender distribution was balanced.

Actor Keanu Reeves’ band Dogstar are also due to perform after playing their first public show in more than 20 years in May at the BottleRock Napa Valley festival.

Primavera Sound organisers are hoping to capitalise on the surge in music tourism seen in Spain. This year saw a 48% boost in concert ticket sales to get back to pre-pandemic levels.
