English Premier League club Brentford has introduced a scheme to help fans during the festive period, by offering flexibility around ticketing.

Fans will be able to submit a request to withdraw their ticketing credit to their bank account, at a time of year when finances may be tight.

The first deadline fell yesterday (Wednesday), with fans that have submitted a request before then able to receive the funds before Christmas Day. However, a second deadline falls on January 2, when fans will be able to receive money during the beginning of the year for requests submitted before this date.

Earlier this month, Brentford revealed the results of its ‘yellow card’ ticketing scheme, which aims to reduce the number of empty seats seen at Gtech Stadium for home league games.

‘Yellow cards’ are handed out to season ticket and premium seat holders that miss a game. To avoid a card, fans must list their ticket on the club’s ticket exchange before 10am on matchday; list the ticket after the 10am deadline and it sold; or hand it over to a guest to attend their place.

Brentford reported that some 400 to 500 extra seats were filled for each game since the scheme was launched at the beginning of the 2023-24 season.

The club’s festive fixtures include Aston Villa at Gtech Stadium on December 17; a trip away to Manchester City on December 23; Wolverhampton Wanderers at home on December 27; and a journey down the road to Crystal Palace on December 30.
