DEAG Deutsche Entertainment is looking to cement its position in Switzerland by bringing in two well-known promoters in the industry to bolster its subsidiaries in the market.

The entertainment service company and live entertainment provider acquired Switzerland’s Live Music Production, Live Music Entertainment and Good News Productions in 2019.

Promoters Christian Gremelmayr and Santosh Aerthott have been hired to drive the expansion of Good News, together with current managing director Stefan Matthey.

Good News Productions is a rock and metal concert organiser, and Gremelmayr and Aerthott will focus on future strategy, with plans to organise more concerts from international artists in Switzerland. Most recently, Good News entered into a long-term collaboration with hard rock and metal festival, Rock the Lakes.

The team at Good News has been further bolstered by the recent appointments of ticketing and marketing specialist, Patrizia Demont, and artist booker Steven Mandel.

Gremelmayr was previously the managing director and co-owner of the Zurich club ‘Abart’, while Aerthott was the former managing director and co-owner of Swiss punk rock agency, Redda Music. Gremelmayr and Aerthott, together with other partners, founded concert agency Mainland Music in 2012.

“Good News Productions, Live Music Production and Live Music Entertainment have developed very well and are now an integral part of the live entertainment industry in Switzerland, selling 600,000 to 700,000 tickets a year,” said Detlef Kornett, co-chief executive and executive board member of DEAG.

“We see excellent opportunities in Switzerland and want to continue to grow profitably with Christian and Santosh and expand our range.”

Matthey added: “I am really looking forward to working with Christian Gremelmayr and Santosh Aerthott. They have extensive experience in the live entertainment industry and a strong network of artists and promoters. We have already worked together closely and trustingly on various events in recent years. Together we want to develop new event formats and offer visitors first-class entertainment at many events and concerts.”
