Chester Football Club, which competes in the sixth tier of English football, has partnered with Fanbase to power ticketing and fan engagement.

The Edinburgh-headquartered company will become Chester’s ticketing provider for both match tickets and season tickets from the 2024-25 season. The move will see new features introduced for fans, including a digital wallet, exclusive content and the ability to purchase tickets and packages quickly.

Chester will also benefit from an improved experience, by gaining the ability to communicate with fans through integrated push notifications.

“We’re really pleased to be working with Fanbase going forward,” said Chester FC general manager Albert Davies.

“When we undertook a review of our ticketing, it was clear that Fanbase stood out as an opportunity for us to future-proof how we sell tickets, and I am very excited for further developments as the partnership gets underway.”

The partnership also boasts environmental sustainability credentials, helping the National League North club to lower its footprint.

“For 2024-25, we will be selling season tickets as ‘digital-first’ which will hugely benefit our supporter base but also how we operate as a club – as well as aiding us in working towards our net-zero target,” continued Davies.

“This is the start of an exciting new era for our ticketing at Chester FC, and I’d like to say a big thank you to Jerome McCarthy and the whole Fanbase team for their work so far, and look forward to seeing what we can achieve together in the future.”

Head of growth at Fanbase, Jerome McCarthy, added: “Chester are a forward-thinking club that care about giving their fans a top-class experience so naturally we’re delighted to be on board.

“Fanbase is set to boost Chester’s fan experience, fan engagement and revenue to support their fan-ownership model and ultimately continue their work of growing the club.”

Chester FC will cease operations with current provider, Kaizen, at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
