Zoonga blossoms with first major Australian deal

Kyazoonga subsidiary Zoonga Australia has announced its arrival in the country by becoming the official ticketing partner of the iconic Royal Melbourne Show, which attracts half a million people each year.

The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV), which organises the annual event, said it had selected the division of Kyazoonga, the major Indian online ticketing company, in a bid to “enhance customer experience and value”. The five-year deal will begin at this year’s event in September.

The agricultural show has been held at Melbourne Showgrounds since 1848.

Kyazoonga, which is headquartered in Mumbai, is backed by an $18bn New York based hedge fund that has multiple investments in e-media companies.

Claire Connolly, general manager at Zoonga Australia, said: “We are truly excited about entering the Australian market through our partnership with RASV and further expanding our mission of ‘Tickets made simple for everyone, everywhere’.

“We will work closely with RASV to do what we do best – providing customers, with seamless access to tickets through our user-friendly online service and innovative technology. We empower our clients and our customers with the ability to choose how, when, where and what they want to purchase.

“Ticketing is not just about selling a ticket to the customer, it’s about offering and providing a superior customer experience.”

Kyazoonga announced plans to enter Australasia and expand globally last year, indicating its technological capabilities could help it disrupt the market.

Brad Jenkins, RASV general manager, said: “We believe Zoonga’s innovative world-class ticketing services and experience in ticketing major events around the world will add great value to our event operations and importantly provide a great experience to Royal Melbourne Show visitors when they purchase tickets online or at the event.”
