CTS Eventim completes Venuepoint buy-out

CTS Eventim has acquired all remaining shares in Scandinavian ticketing provider Venuepoint.

CTS Eventim had previously bought a controlling stake in the firm from its former joint venture partner Nordisk Film, and is now the sole owner of Venuepoint, which holds leading market positions in Denmark, Norway and Sweden.

Alexander Ruoff, chief operating officer of CTS Eventim, said: “The Scandinavian countries are particularly attractive to us not only because of their spending power but also because of their strong digital affinity.

“Therefore, we are very much looking forward to actively contributing to Venuepoint’s further growth over the long term. At the same time, I sincerely thank our former co-owners at Nordisk Film for our trustful collaboration and all the progress we have achieved over the past two years.”

Nordisk Film has been involved in Venuepoint since 2012, with CTS Eventim becoming its joint venture partner in March 2016.

Venuepoint’s ticketing platforms are currently being migrated to CTS Eventim’s systems. The online portals billetlugen.dkeventim.no and eventim.se are all part of Venuepoint.

Asger Flygare Bech-Thomsen, chief executive of Nordisk Film Cinemas, said: “We have had an excellent partnership with CTS Eventim, implementing new state-of-the-art ticketing services and growing the business in our home markets. With a strong growth strategy in place, CTS Eventim – being the best possible sole owners – will now take Venuepoint to the next level.”

Jens B. Arnesen, chief executive of Venuepoint, added: “Personally and on behalf of my colleagues, I want to thank Nordisk Film for all their confidence and dedication. At the same time, I’m looking forward to further developing our business with the unique expertise of Europe’s leading ticketing provider CTS Eventim. I am sure that we will benefit not only from their resources and network, but also from the new and simplified ownership structure.”
