Eventim opens Israeli development centre

Eventim has opened a research and development centre in Israel, its first operation outside of Germany.

Ami Feinstein, managing director of Eventim’s activity in Israel, told the Calcalist Tech website about the new centre, which opened last week.

The new Eventim centre currently has 12 developers employed, with plans to hire dozens more in the near future, Feinstein said.

The company’s new Israel development centre is focusing on technologies such as a prediction system designed to gauge the sales potential of different events.

He added: “We have the ability to cross check our own data with data coming from different services such as Last.fm and Spotify, and from tools such as Google Trends.”

Feinstein said Eventim uses the data to predict the popularity of certain events.

Eventim’s Israel operation has been running since 2011 and is the largest ticketing service in the country.
