Inter Miami reports season tickets surge for inaugural season

Major League Soccer expansion franchise Inter Miami has sold out of season tickets for its inaugural season this year.

The new team, which is owned by David Beckham and Jorge Mas, has informed any fans who missed out that they can request to be added to a waiting list for the 2021 season.

Supporters can pay $50 (£39/€44) to reserve a place on the list, which would be knocked off the season ticket price as and when they become available to purchase next year.

Fans who have signed up for the so-called ‘Waitlist’ will also receive exclusive purchasing opportunities and will be treated as priority customers for any seats that do become available.

Inter Miami has also sold out of single-game tickets for Saturday’s home debut against LA Galaxy at the new temporary 19,000-capacity Fort Lauderdale stadium, which has been built in eight months.

Inter plans to play its first two seasons at the stadium before moving to its intended permanent home, the 25,000-seat Miami Freedom Park.

In May 2019, the MLS expansion franchise employed Elevate Sports Ventures to help drive sales for tickets and hospitality packages. The firm was tasked with supporting the club’s premium, season and individual ticket sales strategy.

The sports and entertainment consulting firm, which is a joint venture of the San Francisco 49ers, Harris Blitzer Sports and Entertainment, Ticketmaster, Live Nation and the Oakview Group, is the team’s premium sales agency.
