Live Nation offers one million tickets for $20 each

Live Nation is offering one million tickets for just $20 (€18/£15.50) each to kick off the summer concert season in the US.

Tickets for more than 1,000 shows will cost Live Nation customers only $20 as part of its ‘Kickoff to Summer Ticket Promotion’.

The deal lasts one week, from May 2 to May 9, with a pre-sale on May 1.

Included in the promotion concerts are John Mayer, Future, Chris Brown, Earth, Wind & Fire (pictured), Enrique Iglesias and Zac Brown Band.

To mark the start of the season and to celebrate National Concert Day on May 1, Live Nation is producing a show in New York City at Irving Plaza. The event will feature performances from country music star Jason Aldean, Foreigner, The Roots, Daughtry, Prince Royce and Nickleback.

OneRepublic will perform live on NBC’s Today show on May 2 to launch the ‘Kickoff to Summer Ticket Promotion’.

Live Nation’s shopping spree in the festivals sector has been hit by a setback after the UK’s competition watchdog announced an investigation into the company’s acquisition of the Isle of Wight Festival.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said there were concerns the deal would create a “substantial lessening of competition”.
