Drake tickets twice the cost of Bieber

Fans of Drake must stump up £110 ($135.5/€121.5) for the cheapest standing tickets at the rap star’s upcoming gigs.

The Canadian artist has added extra dates at The O2, Leeds First Direct Arena, Manchester Arena, Sheffield Arena, Birmingham BCA and Glasgow’s SSE Hydro to his ‘The Boy Meets World Tour’ in January and February 2017.

Fans will pay at least £110 through Ticketmaster for the cheapest standing tickets at London’s O2, with entry to the other gigs in England costing around £105. Tickets for the Glasgow venue are less expensive, ranging from £62 to £102.

Drake tickets compare unfavourably to the price of watching other major acts at The O2. Justin Bieber tickets are just half the price at £52, with Red Hot Chilli Peppers at £78, Olly Murs at £62 and Black Sabbath £60.

Drake fans headed to social media to complain about the prices, with one tweeting: “Is seeing Drake for £110 worth missing 3 weeks’ worth of food at uni?”
