YinzCam and Ticketek offering in-app ticket purchases

Australian sports fans can now purchase tickets directly through their favourite teams’ mobile apps thanks to a partnership between Ticketek and developer YinzCam.

Fans of rugby union, rugby league, cricket, Australian Rules football and basketball can now be automatically logged into their MyTicketek account when they open their team or venue app.

The single sign-on capability means customers can buy tickets and access all event and transaction information instantly without switching mobile apps.

Geoff Jones, the chief executive of Ticketek’s parent company TEG, said the app project showed Ticketek’s commitment to advanced data-driven marketing and technology solutions.

“Ticketek partnered with YinzCam because they are the world leader in creating applications designed especially for sports fans,” said Jones.

“YinzCam’s mobile sports apps have been downloaded over 45 million times and its platform has sent over 10 billion push-notifications to fans. That says everything about its insights, user experience and technology.

“We are delighted to create a seamless and enhanced experience for fans using their mobile apps and making the live event experience so much better.”

TouchID and personalisation

The new native software development kit integration will also feature 3D interactive seat maps, ticket purchase through TouchID and ticketing-driven personalisation.

US-based YinzCam has built 18 Australian Football League (AFL) and 14 National Rugby League (NRL) team apps. It has also developed 24 National Football League (NFL) and 23 National Basketball Association (NBA) apps.

Priya Narasimhan, the chief executive and founder of YinzCam, said: “We are excited to partner with Ticketek to provide their ticketing features in a native, mobile integration with single sign-on and data capabilities to be embedded into league and club apps in the Australasia market.

“We are also thrilled with the opportunity to work with the Ticketek team on an innovation roadmap to bring more ticketing and venue features and associated data to life for our common clients.”
