World Athletics has opened a new official sponsorship opportunity, to ensure smooth ticket sales for the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan in 2025.
It is the second call for sponsorship for Tokyo 25, with World Athletics simultaneously inviting sponsorship contractors and ticketing contractors to sign an agreement with the same company, in order to ensure smooth ticket sales for the event.
The hope is to also attract partners that will work together to ensure the success of the championships.
Scheduled to take place from September 13-21 in 2025, the World Athletics Championships will welcome more than 2,000 athletes from over 200 countries.
It is the second time the Japanese capital city will hold the event, after first hosting in 1991.
Last year’s edition was held in Budapest, Hungary.
“We look forward to receiving applications from all those who will help us to promote the WCH Tokyo 25 and spread the joy and splendour of athletics and sports, as well as the attractions of the host city, Tokyo,” said World Athletics in a statement.
