Former Google exec Singh Cassidy to lead StubHub

Sukhinder Singh Cassidy has been appointed as the new president of StubHub.

Silicon Valley veteran Singh Cassidy will replace Scott Cutler at the eBay-owned ticketing marketplace from the start of May. Cutler’s promotion to another position within eBay was announced last August.

Singh Cassidy, the founder of theBoardlist, Joyus and Yodlee, has held senior positions at Google and Polyvore and is a director at Urban Outfitters.

“Sukhinder is a strong, dynamic leader who has founded and grown online marketplaces throughout her career,” said eBay chief executive Devin Wenig.

“She is the right leader to lay the foundation for long-term growth and continue StubHub’s international expansion while delivering outstanding fan experiences.”

Singh Cassidy was born in Tanzania, but moved to Canada with her family when she was two years old.

Singh Cassidy began her career at Amazon and Merrill Lynch and went on to become president of Google’s Asia Pacific and Latin America business for more than five years. She was instrumental in the launch of Google Local and Maps in 2003.

She founded theBoardlist, a benefit corporation and premium talent marketplace for boards, started in the technology industry. She also founded Joyus, the first video commerce marketplace online, was CEO of Polyvore, the leading fashion and lifestyle platform and was previously the Founder & SVP of business development at leading fintech platform Yodlee.

Singh Cassidy will be based in StubHub’s San Francisco headquarters and report directly to Wenig.
