Riot Fest organisers reach Ticketfly settlement

The organisers of the Riot Fest music festival have offered customers a series of special offers after reaching a settlement with Ticketfly after the ticketing platform suffered a cyber-attack.

The platform shut down for four days from the end of May, affecting millions of customers.

Customers of Riot Fest, which will take place in Chicago from September 14-16, were among those affected, with the attack occurring during the 2018 event’s line-up announcement and ticket launch.

In a statement, Riot Fest founder Michael Petryshyn said: “While Ticketfly was making quick work of securing its website and user data, we were able to migrate over to its parent company, Eventbrite, and mitigate the effect this had on you as best we could.

“Last week we reached a settlement with Ticketfly. For me, there was only one proper thing to do: find a way to give it all back to you.

“Thanks to the settlement, we’re very happy to be able to share a few special offerings with you today.”

A limited number of discounted Riot Fest 2018 tickets will be available for $99.98 via Ticketfly, while those who have already purchased tickets have been offered an additional single-day general admission pass that can be used by a friend or family member for any of the three days.

Additionally, for Riot Fest 2019, those who have bought tickets for the 2018 event will have the option of purchasing a three-day pass for $99.98.
