Spice Girls fans demand refunds after sound issues

Spice Girls fans are demanding ticket refunds after shows in Ireland and Wales were dogged by sound quality problems.

Complaints have been flooding in across social media after fans at Dublin’s Croke Park show on Friday and Cardiff’s Principality Stadium performance on Monday said they couldn’t hear the music properly inside the venues.

After the Cardiff concert, one fan wrote on Twitter: “Okay so @spicegirls was so much fun however the sound was atrocious and you could not hear what they actually said! So disappointing when you pay soo much for a once in a lifetime opportunity.”

Another commented: “@spicegirls how disappointing to spend money on a ticket to see you @principalitysta and the support act stole the show! Sound was pants!”

Band member Mel B said after Friday’s gig: “Hey guys, thanks you for attending our show tonight in Dublin we will see you in Cardiff and hopefully the vocals and the sound will be much better.”

The comeback tour sees the four-woman band, without former member Victoria Beckham, play sell out shows at UK venues, including Wembley Stadium, until June 15.
