Ticketing technology provider Secutix helped European football governing body UEFA to roll out over a quarter of million digital tickets for the recent Europa Conference League final, Europa League final, Nations League Finals 4 and Champions League final.

It was the first time tickets have been delivered to mobiles for the Europa Conference League final, Europa League final and Nations League Finals 4, which all took place across May and June.

Over 280,000 tickets were downloaded by fans through the UEFA ticketing app, which is powered by Tixngo, the mobile ticketing solution from Secutix.

Mobile tickets were delivered to supporters of each featured team, guests of sponsors, football family members and hospitality customers.

Frédéric Longatte, chief executive of Secutix, said: “These are some of the most prestigious events in the sporting calendar, and we were delighted that our digital innovation helped to deliver a positive ticketing experience.

“The hard work and dedication of both the UEFA and Secutix teams has set a high standard for future events.”

The app also helped from a security point of view as UEFA was able to identify each fan attending. Ticket QR codes appeared in the UEFA app on fans’ phones four hours before kick-off.

Safety around major finals has incurred scrutiny after 2022’s UEFA Champions League final between Premier League club Liverpool and LaLiga side Real Madrid in Paris was marred by issues.
