Broadway musical Hamilton is set to make its debut in Singapore in April next year.

The production will begin its limited run at Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands from April 19, with tickets to go on sale from November 14. Those that have put their name on the waitlist will be first in line to purchase tickets.

Hamilton is also currently being staged in Manila in the Philippines, boasting sold-out shows until November 26. The production is then set for a run in Abu Dhabi in January.

Base Entertainment Asia, operator of Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands, announced that Singapore will be the third city on the musical’s first international tour.

The musical has been hugely successful on Broadway and the West End in London, as well as the likes of Australia and Germany.

Hamilton was created by songwriter and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda and depicts the life of American founding father Alexander Hamilton. The musical first debuted off-Broadway in 2015, and in 2017 began its first North American tour. That same year, Hamilton first appeared in the West End.

Earlier this month, Hamilton extended its West End booking period until September next year.
