We round up the latest movements from the ticketing sector and associated industries…

The Washington Commanders National Football League (NFL) team has appointed Andrew Sidney as senior vice-president of sales and service.

In this new role, Sidney will be responsible for leading ticketing, suites, and services teams, as well as implementing strategies to optimise revenue and build strong fan satisfaction.

Sidney originally joined the Washington franchise in 2021, where he helped to transform the ticketing department. Prior to starting his new role, he spent the last two seasons as vice-president of ticket sales.

University of Arizona has promoted Joe McLean to senior associate A.D for revenue generation.

In this new role, McLean will serve on the department’s executive team while overseeing all ticketing operations and sales, marketing and annual giving, while also working as Arizona’s primary liaison with Learfield.

McLean has spent the last nine years with the university.

ASM Global, the live events, venue management and event strategy company, has appointed Bob Papke (pictured) as its first vice-president of industry relations and client development.

In this newly created role, Papke will oversee entertainment-industry relations for more than 80 theatres and performing arts centres managed by ASM Global. Papke will also continue as general manager of the Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts in Melbourne, Florida, and supervise a number of ASM Global-managed venues.

He will work alongside Will Beekman, ASM Global’s newly named vice-president of theatre operations and content development.

“Bob has put his heart and soul into this division for years and has created a pathway for our continued success,” said Beekman. “He has also outlined a strategic and detailed plan for a smooth transition of leadership to ensure that our partners and venues are left in great hands. I thank him for his decades of commitment and look forward to him taking the reins and continuing what he started.”

Elsewhere, the newly launched Ticmint in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has brought in former Ticketmaster Middle East vice-president Darren Hepworth as senior advisor.

Hepworth also worked as a member of the FIFA Ticketing team for the Men’s World Cup in Qatar last year.
