The local organising committee of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 has revealed that 90,000 tickets were sold in the first 24 hours after the second batch was released just over a week ago.
According to a report from the Qatar News Agency, fans from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and India purchased the majority of tickets available.
Additionally, the tournament opener between Qatar and Lebanon – scheduled for January 12 at Lusail Stadium – and Saudi Arabia vs Oman led the ticket sales.
Qatar is set to hold the delayed tournament between January 12 and February 10, after taking over hosting duties from China.
The first phase saw over 81,000 tickets sold within the first day after launching on October 10.
Organisers also recently announced that an unspecified amount of ticketing revenue would be donated towards Palestinian relief efforts.
