The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has revealed that over 30,000 tickets have already been sold during the online ticket sales phase for the Africa Cup of Nations, with tickets now available over the counter.

Local fans will be able to snap up tickets in person for the tournament which will begin on January 13 and run until February 11.

Online ticket sales were launched on November 9, while over-the-counter ticket sales will be available across 12 cities and towns across Cote d’Ivoire.

Ticket sales outlets can be found in Yamoussoukro, Bouaké, Korhogo, San Pedro, Grand Bassam, Cocody, Plateau, Bingerville, Songon, Anyama, Yopougon and Adjamé.

Prices will range from 5,000 FCFA (£7/€8/$8) for category three, 10,000 FCFA for category two, and 15,000 FCFA.

CAF turned to online ticketing for the first time to try and encourage football fans to buy tickets well in advance of the tournament.

The event was postponed from this summer to next month to avoid Cote d’Ivoire’s traditional rainy season in June and July. Organisers announced the decision to make the switch in 2022.
