AXS has acquired a majority stake in WRSTBND, a provider of access control, credentialing and point-of-sale solutions for live events and venues.

The investment from the ticketing platform will see WRSTBND integrate AXS Mobile ID technology within its ecosystem, allowing AXS clients and partners to reap the benefits of rapid iteration and the release of new features, further integrating point-of-sale, credentialing, sponsorship, and loyalty programmes.

Additional benefits include streamlining entry and exit procedures, frictionless payments and creating personalised experiences for guests.

“From the very beginning, the AXS team shared our vision for how WRSTBND could be integrated and utilised for festivals and events all across the world. Together, with the help of their resources and our technology, we will continue to push boundaries to develop and implement unparalleled solutions for our clients and their patrons,” said Conway Solomon, co-founder and chief executive, in a joint statement with Jonathon Foucheaux, co-founder and chief technology officer.

Marc Ruxin, AXS chief strategy officer, added: “WRSTBND has established itself as one of the rising stars within the live event access control and credential management business, solving some of the most high-profile and complicated problems for the Super Bowl, US Open, and the NFL Draft.

“Their hardware and software technology combined with the scale of AXS’ premier festivals and live event clients, including Coachella, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Fest, and Hyde Park BST will create the most seamless and cutting-edge access and payment solutions available anywhere.”

This week also saw the announcement that AXS has been signed up by social media and video sharing platform TikTok, to offer fans a new way to discover and purchase tickets for live events.

The feature is live in markets such as the US, UK, Sweden and Australia, and any Certified Artists on TikTok can use the in-app ticketing feature to promote their AXS live dates.

Music fans will be able to discover and buy tickets for events through AXS directly within the TikTok platform with just a few clicks.
