Titanic Belfast celebrates award with ticket giveaway

The Titanic Belfast museum is giving away tickets to celebrate being named as the ‘World’s Leading Tourist Attraction’.

More than three million people from around the world have visited Titanic Belfast, which is housed over six floors, since the attraction that celebrates the tragic ocean liner opened in 2012.

Last month it beat off the likes of Peru’s Machu Pichu and the Las Vegas Strip to be named as the world’s best attraction at the World Travel Awards.

The public can apply for the complimentary tickets today (Wednesday), with more being offered tomorrow. The tickets can then be used on Northern Ireland Citizens Day on Sunday, January 8.

Tim Husbands, chief executive of Titanic Belfast, said: “Home is where the heart is for Titanic Belfast. We recognise that Northern Ireland got behind us in our bid to become ‘King of the World’. It was because of them and the hard work of our staff that we were voted on par with previous winners such as the Taj Mahal, Las Vegas Strip and the Pyramids of Egypt.”
