Eventim has provided Adele fans with full refunds following two cancelled shows at London’s Wembley Stadium.
Adele fans initially lashed out on social media because the ticketing company’s policy meant that booking fees were not going to be reimbursed, as well as only a partial ticket refund.
However, Eventim has now announced it will refund the booking fees as well as the full ticket cost.
The singer cancelled two shows after she announced that her vocal chords had been damaged.
Adele’s announcement said: “On medical advice I am simply unable to perform over the weekend.
She added: “I’ve struggled vocally both nights,” when discussing her two previous shows on June 28 and 29 at Wembley Stadium.
Eventim’s announcement that it would only offer a partial refund of the ticket’s face value, with the cost of the booking fees not included was met with hostility on Twitter.
Amelia Butterly said: “Hey Eventim – why no refund on the booking fee for Adele? That’s an awful lot of money still, for a show I didn’t get to see…”
Another fan said: “Absolutely disgusted that Eventim don’t refund Adele booking fees for cancelled concert. Leaving me £10 per ticket out of pocket.”
Following the sharp criticism, Eventim released a statement, which said: “On this occasion we will not only refund the face value of the tickets but also the booking fees.”
