Google and Eventbrite debut events search feature in Australia

Australian consumers will now receive personal recommendations for live events through a new partnership between Google and Eventbrite.

Google’s new ‘Events in Search’ feature gives web searchers personal recommendations and key information about Eventbrite events.

When consumers search on their phone or laptop for things like “events near me” or “free concert,” new features will give them personal recommendations, along with more information about events that may interest them. Should they tap an event they are interested in they will get an overview of things like time, location, ticketing providers and other information. They can then follow the links to buy tickets from the provider of their choice.

Phil Silverstone, Eventbrite’s general manager, Asia Pacific, said: “Whether you’re in the mood for a live music gig, a yoga class or a theatre show, Eventbrite and Google will help you find a diverse array of live experiences happening in your neighbourhood.

“The launch of this exciting new feature marks the expansion of Eventbrite’s partnership with Google as we continue our quest to connect even more Aussies with the very best live experiences our country has to offer.”

Eventbrite has been integrated with Facebook, Spotify and Google for some time. Last year it began making ticket purchases available through Instagram.
