Live Nation has teamed up with Vodafone New Zealand to expand its global artist discovery platform to the Southern Hemisphere with ONES TO WATCH New Zealand.
The platform will see 12 new local artists join the platform over the course of one year, with an online site featuring profiles, dedicated editorials, video content and playlists. The artists will also perform at exclusive showcase events, with the first one taking place on October 21 in Auckland.
Fans will be provided with exclusive access to follow the unfolding careers of New Zealand’s up-and-coming local artists, bands, musicians and producers through the online platform.
In addition, each artist will have the opportunity to perform live at the quarterly ONES TO WATCH showcase event aimed at getting the artists in front of key industry professionals and performing to a live audience.
ONES TO WATCH launched in the US in 2017, with a list of now household names launching their career through the platform such as Halsey and Dua Lipa.
Vodafone NZ consumer director Carolyn Luey said: “Vodafone has a long history of supporting our local music talent and we are thrilled to be continuing this legacy by bringing ONES TO WATCH to New Zealand, alongside Live Nation.
“The music industry has been hit hard this year with the cancellation of so many concerts and gigs. Our hope is that ONES TO WATCH will be a boost to the industry by not only fostering the awesome talent we have domestically, but also giving Kiwis the opportunity to fall in love with budding local artists, adding to the rich musical diversity we enjoy in Aotearoa.”
Mark Kneebone, managing director of Live Nation New Zealand, added: “Through ONES TO WATCH, Live Nation and Vodafone are committed to developing local emerging artists, not only by exposing them to new audiences but providing platforms for professional development.”
After launching an exclusive long-term partnership in 2019, Live Nation Australasia and Vodafone New Zealand have provided Vodafone customers access to Live Nation’s entertainment portfolio including music, family and comedy tours and festivals across the country.
The strategic multi-year partnership aims to bring live experiences to New Zealand and local artists to the world. The emerging talent platform of ONES TO WATCH builds on this partnership and a mutual dedication to support grassroots initiatives.
