India vs Pakistan Asia Cup tickets snapped up by eager fans

Tickets for the highly anticipated clash between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup have sold out within hours, with as many as 750,000 users trying to secure a seat.

This year’s Asia Cup is set to take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with India vs Pakistan being held at the 25,000-capacity Dubai International Stadium.

It has been reported that the official ticketing partner for the event, Platinumlist, had made arrangements to prevent the website from crashing as it had predicted a large volume of cricket fans. Supporters were placed into a queue to control traffic, however there were some reports that the website still crashed.

The price of tickets for this particular match started much higher at AED 250 (£56/$68/€67) than the price of others, which began at AED 75.

In a post on social media, Platinumlist said that India vs Pakistan match tickets would only be available in packages with other matches, due to high demand. The ticketing platform then revealed that all general packages had sold out, with only hospitality tickets available.

The Asia Cup 2022 will run between August 27 and September 11 and will also feature nations such as Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
