Weezevent is planning an M&A spree to boost its presence in the UK, Spain and Germany after hitting a strategic fundraising milestone.

The France-headquartered events management and ticketing services provider has been boosted by funds from Naxicap Partners and Banque Populaire. It said the cash is earmarked for strategic acquisitions, while excluding regular operational costs.

In 2021, Weezevent announced its takeover of Belgian competitor PlayPass. At the time, it estimated the group’s combined offering would represent an annual turnover of over £400m.

“This move is much more than just fundraising. It’s about our future, our vision. We are poised to enhance our global reach and further our leadership in the event tech domain,” said co-founders Pierre-Henri Deballon and Sébastien Tonglet. “The horizon is clear, and Weezevent is on the move.”

Weezevent, which was founded in 2008, offers services including ticketing, access control, payment systems, CRM, and 3D seat modelling. It has worked with partners such as Lollapalooza, Rugby World Cup, Mexico City Grand Prix and Paris St Germain.

The business operates in over 30 countries with offices in cities including Paris, Montreal, Madrid, London, Lausanne, and Antwerp. It processes 20 million tickets annually and supervises transactions worth £550m.
